The IAS Conference on HIV Science is the world’s most influential meeting on HIV research and its applications. This biennial conference presents the critical advances in basic, clinical and operational HIV research that move science into policy and practice. Through its open and inclusive programme, the meeting sets the gold standard of HIV science, featuring highly diverse and cutting-edge research.
Requirements
The following candidates will be given priority:
- Abstract presenters whose submission has been selected for the conference
- Applicants from low-income and lower-middle-income countries
- Applicants who are part of key populations and people living with HIV
- Young people and early-career investigators below the age of 35
- Applicants who did not previously receive a scholarship for an IAS Conference
Scholarship Details
Support for in-person attendance includes:
- In-person plus on-demand registration, including:
- On-demand access to the recordings of all conference sessions, satellite sessions, pre-conferences and e-posters throughout the conference and until 19 August 2025
- In-person access to all conference sessions, satellite sessions, pre-conferences, the poster exhibition and the exhibition
- Travel support (pre-paid economy class return ticket from the nearest international airport in your country of residence) for the dates of the conference
- Accommodation (single room in a budget hotel) for the duration of the conference
- Daily living allowance for each day of the conference (some of the allowance may be provided in the form of lunch vouchers for use at the conference venue)
On-demand (virtual only) registration, including:
- On-demand access to the recordings of all conference sessions, satellite sessions, pre-conferences and e-posters throughout the conference and until 19 August 2025
Method of Application
To apply, eligible candidates will have to answer questions about their organization/institution, experience in the HIV field, motivation to attend the conference, and community benefits of attending.
You will have to upload a letter of recommendation. The letter must:
- Be written in English by a manager or colleague who is familiar with your work, volunteer experience or studies in HIV and can be your referee
- Include a letterhead of your referee’s organization, company or institution
- Be dated within two months of your application submission and signed (original or digital signature) by your referee
- Explicitly reference you and support your scholarship application for IAS 2025, explaining why you would be a good candidate for the scholarship
Application Timeline:
- 20 November 2024: Submissions open
- 22 January 2025: Submissions close
- February/March 2025: Review and selection
- Early April 2025: Announcement of results
