Presidency denies reports that President Tinubu asked CBN Governor to resign over free fall of Naira

The Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, has denied reports claiming President Tinubu asked the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Yemi Cardoso, to resign.

There were reports earlier today claiming that the President had asked Cardoso to resign over the steep fall of Naira.

Reacting via his X handle, Onanuga wrote

‘’It’s all lies. President Tinubu has not asked Yemi Cardoso to resign.”
