The event was narrated by the student’s father who shared his son’s experience with a Twitter user.

According to him, the student’s lecturer already has a PhD which he earned from a Nigerian university.
He said that the lecturer told his former student not to address him as ‘sir’ in class.
The post read:
“Hi, My son was surprised to find his young lecturer who already had a PhD in Nigeria in his MSc class in Canada. He was instructed to stop the ‘sir’ he was used to in Nigeria.”
